Life is Long. I know that’s not what most people say, but it’s true. For some, life is short, but for most, it’s decades upon decades upon decades of living. A decade is a long long time - long enough to earn a PHD and be on your way to a second. Each decade, however, is made up a string of days. And each of your days is a gift.
Appreciate your strengths in any given moment.
Believe with faith in your personal convictions.
Give energy to your dreams, paths, responsibilities and passions - and make space to execute on those you deem worthy with focus and commitment.
Remember to allow yourself space to evolve - with the grace to learn, to change, to adapt, to transform, to add, to subtract and to transcend. Your thoughts, your ideas, your dreams and your paths are not static - even if your ideas, ideals and paths feel unshakable in any given moment. They will mature over time - as will you.
When you say to yourself, “In my next life I want to….” write it down. Your next life may simply be a decade, or even a moment, from now. Be open to the idea that, likely, there is time in your future to do all the things you wished to do when life was a bit more hectic.
Dis-ease is often a result of staring at the decades ahead and not quite knowing what to do, or a result of turning your dreams inward, when they are meant to be realized. See your life as long. In that way, time is as much of an opportunity at decade 50 as it is at decade 20.
Every ring inside every tree has a story to share.
"The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now." - Chinese Proverb
